The man whispered, "God, speak to me"
and a meadowlark sang.
But, the man did not hear.

So the man yelled, "God, speak to me"
and the thunder rolled across the sky.
But, the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you"
and a star shone brightly.
But, the man did not notice.

The man shouted, "God, show me a miracle!"
And a life was born.
But, the man did not see.

So, the man cried out in dispair, "Touch me God,
and let me know you are here!"
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man....

But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

I came across this while looking back at the miracles God has performed in my life. Most recently with my mom's cancer, treatment, and recovery. God saved her! He allowed me find out what a wonderful mother I have and how strong and brave she is. Not in a way I would have planned (who plans on cancer)but nevertheless, our family was tested! It was HIS way of showing us a miracle. On the other hand, I live with 2 living, breathing miracles every single day. My sons are miracles! Infertility would not have been my "way" to see God, but again it was HIS way. What a blessing we would have missed had we not been able to adopt and raise these two beautiful boys. Failed adoption again was not my way, but HIS. Had both adoptions not fallen through, where would these two angels we love and call sons be? I refuse to imagine because God's miracle made it possible not to have to! If you're praying for a miracle, keep your eyes wide open. God moves in mysterious ways. His ways are not always our ways, but there by far the best way!!!!
